Vorianos, Heraklion: Arrests and Investigations into Bloody Clash

Investigations continue in Vorianos, Heraklion, following the bloody clash that claimed the lives of two people. Arrests have been made and weapons seized by the Hellenic Police (ELAS).
A 48-year-old man from the Kargakis family has been arrested and brought before the prosecutor. He denies the charges, stating that he does not need weapons and that "his word is his weapon."
According to reports, the 48-year-old is allegedly the second person recorded in the clash video, along with his 43-year-old son-in-law, Fanouris Kargakis, against whom an arrest warrant has also been issued. The warrant was issued after witness testimonies.
So far, seven people have been arrested, while two men have been remanded in custody. As part of the investigation, searches have been carried out on homes and livestock pens, people have been detained, and vehicles have been checked. Weapons and ammunition have been found and confiscated.
The investigations are continuing at an intensive pace, in cooperation with the Investigating Magistrate of Heraklion, to fully investigate the case.
