Haïdari: 13-year-old in critical condition after falling from school balcony

A 13-year-old student is in critical condition after falling from a school balcony in Haïdari. The accident occurred at the 7th Gymnasium of Haïdari around 11 a.m.

The first-grade junior high school student reportedly lost her balance while sitting on the railing of the balcony on the 1st floor. She was immediately transferred to "Attikon" hospital and then to "Agia Sofia" Children's Hospital, where she is being treated intubated in the ICU.

According to reports, the 13-year-old suffered diffuse cerebral edema, a skull base fracture, and a pelvic fracture. A left pneumothorax was also detected. She underwent surgery that lasted approximately 3.5 hours.

A teacher at the school stated that the girl was talking to other children when she slipped from the balcony. The incident is under investigation.
