Halkidiki: Prosecutor's Investigation into 8-Year-Old's Death at Camp

A prosecutor's investigation has been launched into the operating conditions of a camp in Halkidiki, where an 8-year-old girl drowned in August. The prosecutor of Appeals ordered the investigation to determine whether the camp is operating legally.

As part of the investigation, the re-licensing documents of the camp will be requested, the operation of which had been suspended the previous year. It will also be investigated whether the act of breach of duty or any other offense is substantiated.

The prosecutor of Appeals also requested an update on the progress of the criminal investigation regarding any responsibilities for the girl's death. The initial investigation for manslaughter by negligence has been completed, and the case file is at the Polygyros Prosecutor's Office.
