Chios: 30-year-old suffers head injury after attack by ex-partner

A 30-year-old woman is hospitalized with a traumatic brain injury at the Chios Hospital after being attacked by her 33-year-old ex-partner early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred in the village of Pyrgi, when the 33-year-old attacked his ex-partner, injuring her in the head and chest area after an argument.

The woman also suffered a broken nose and a fractured eye socket, but according to ERT, she is out of danger.

The perpetrator was arrested by the authorities. He was found in possession of airgun pellets and a knuckle duster, while an airgun package, a double-barreled shotgun and a carbine were also confiscated. A case file was opened against him for attempted murder, violations of domestic violence legislation and weapons legislation.
