Chios: 33-year-old Remanded in Custody for Assaulting Ex-Partner

A 33-year-old man from Chios has been remanded in custody, accused of severely beating his ex-partner. The woman is hospitalized with serious injuries.

The 33-year-old faces charges of attempted murder and attempted rape. According to politischios.gr, the decision to remand him in custody was made after his apology before the investigator and the concurring opinion of the Chios prosecutor.

The incident took place in Chios, where the 33-year-old attacked his ex-partner, of Albanian origin from Pyrgi, hitting her on the head with the handle of a replica weapon. The woman was transferred to Chios Hospital with traumatic brain injury, a broken nose, and a fractured eye socket.

During the arrest of the 33-year-old, airgun pellets and brass knuckles were found in his possession, while a double-barreled shotgun and a carbine were also confiscated.
