Twelve students from South Korea and Australia are participating in an international Greek language and culture program at the University of Ioannina. The program enhances the university's international outreach and its role as a center for education and cultural exchange.

The program, funded by the Macquarie Greek Foundation, combines academic teaching of the Greek language with experiential activities. Students acquire language skills and learn about Greek history and culture, with Epirus being the main area for the implementation of activities.

The courses take place at the DIKEPPEE "Stavros Niarchos". The program includes 60 hours of face-to-face teaching and ten days of experiential activities and visits to archaeological sites and museums in Epirus.

The Dean of the School of Education, N. Tsitsanoudi, emphasized the importance of the program and the students' love for Greece. She also mentioned the 12th International Summer University to be held in Sydney in September.

The teaching is undertaken by teachers Anna Douvali, Anastasia Giannikou and Athina Vourvou. Students stay at the DIKEPPEE "Stavros Niarchos" guesthouse.
