Grevena: Ancient artifacts & proboscidean fossil discovered

In the Grevena region, police discovered numerous ancient artifacts of historical and archaeological value, dating from the Ancient, Roman, and Byzantine periods (5th century BC to 15th century AD).
During an operation, two men, aged 36 and 68, were arrested on charges of violating antiquities protection laws. The findings include a fossil of a proboscidean animal, approximately three million years old, 1,096 ancient coins, 49 ancient pieces of jewelry, and 123 attachments for symposium and clothing vessels.
