Mendoni: Dinners in Parthenon Sculptures Hall are Offensive

Greek Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni condemned the holding of a charity dinner in the Duveen Gallery of the British Museum, where the Parthenon Sculptures are exhibited. The Ministry of Culture calls the action 'offensive' and dangerous for the exhibits.

Ms. Mendoni stated that the Ministry of Culture has repeatedly condemned dinners, receptions and fashion shows in museum spaces. The minister stressed that the safety and integrity of the monuments should be the primary concern of the British Museum.

An earlier post by Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotaki on social networks expressed her displeasure with the organization of the dinner, calling it inappropriate amidst public dialogue on the reunification of the Sculptures.
