Mytilene: Church Damaged by Storm «Erminio»

Severe damage was caused to the Holy Church of Agioi Pateres in Ano Chalikas, Mytilene on Wednesday (1/4) due to the storm «Erminio». A tree fell on the building, causing parts of the roof to collapse.

According to stonisi.gr, a large branch collapsed onto the church, causing the roof to fall and damage to the interior. Images show piles of rubble and stones, even in front of the Holy Altar.

A piece of the roof has come off, leaving the interior exposed, while damage is observed on walls and decorative elements. Church furniture and objects have been covered with dust and debris, and there is also damage to the iconostasis.

The tree that caused the damage is located outside the church.
