Hydra Municipality Donates Ottoman-Era Archives to Messolonghi Municipality

In a symbolic ceremony, the Municipality of Hydra donated Ottoman-era archives related to the revolutionary period of Messolonghi to the Municipality of Holy City of Messolonghi. The ceremony took place in the event hall of the Chrysogelos building.

The Mayor of Messolonghi, Mr. Spyridon Diamantopoulos, opened the event with a greeting. He was followed by the Mayor of Hydra, Mr. Georgios Koukoudakis, who referred to the importance of the archives and the ties between the two cities. The Professor of the University of Ankara, Mr. Alper Arisoy, presented aspects of the content of the archives.

The archives were officially handed over by the Mayor of Hydra to the Mayor of Messolonghi, with the signing of a relevant protocol. This initiative contributes to the historical documentation of the Revolution and strengthens the national dialogue on highlighting archival heritage.
