Molière's 'The Misanthrope' Premieres in Athens

Molière's biting comedy, 'The Misanthrope', directed by Ioli Andreadi, premieres at the Filipp Theater on March 12th. The performance, produced by the Thessalian Theater, comes to Athens after successful shows.
The new Greek verse adaptation of 1,600 lines is by Ioli Andreadi and Aris Asproulis, based on the translation by Yagos Andreadis.
The play takes place in Paris in 1666 and focuses on Alceste, an honest man who opposes the hypocrisy of society. He falls in love with Célimène, who embodies everything he hates.
The performance will be played for 16 shows at the new Filipp Theater in Kypseli.
