Lea Massari, Italian Cinema Star, Dies

Italian actress Lea Massari has passed away at the age of 91 in Rome. She was one of the most distinctive figures in European cinema of the 60s and 70s.

Massari began her career in 1957 and collaborated with directors such as Louis Malle, Michelangelo Antonioni and Franco Rosi. She also co-starred with Alain Delon, Omar Sharif and Jean Paul Belmondo.

She avoided publicity and retired from acting in 1990. She died on Monday after her health deteriorated. Her funeral was held privately.
