Thessaloniki: Metropolis Crowded for Epiphany Celebration

A multitude of faithful gathered today at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Saint Gregory Palamas in Thessaloniki for the celebration of the Epiphany. The doxology was performed by the Metropolitan of Thessaloniki, Philotheos.

Following the doxology, a Holy Litany took place, in which, besides the Parish of the Metropolitan Holy Church of Saint Gregory Palamas, the Holy Pilgrimage Church of Hagia Sophia, as well as the old Metropolitan Holy Church of Saint Minas, participated.

Subsequently, the traditional ceremony of the throwing of the Holy Cross into the waters of the Thermaic Gulf took place, in the presence of a multitude of people and officials.
