Jazz Encounters with International Artists in Athens

A five-day event dedicated to contemporary jazz will take place in Athens, hosting international artists and musical collaborations. The events will be held at the Half Note.

It begins on Thursday, March 19, with the musical meeting “Jazz in Dialogue,” where trumpeter Andreas Polyzogopoulos meets Dutch pianist and composer Diederik Wissels and Portuguese performer Ana Rocha. The trio will present material from their albums Secrecy, Yearn, and Before You Go.

From Friday, March 20, to Monday, March 23, the stage of the Half Note will be taken over by pianist and singer Dena DeRose, performing original compositions and favorite standards from the American Songbook. In Athens, she will appear with Darryl Hall on bass and Mario Gonzi on drums.
