Growth in Greece: Consumers Struggle Despite Economic Rise

Despite economic growth in Greece, consumers continue to face difficulties due to rising prices and reduced purchasing power.

The Greek economy is growing at a higher rate than the Eurozone, with an increase in the minimum wage and a reduction in tax rates. However, rising food and rent prices are creating pressure on household budgets.

According to ELSTAT, the average CPI increased by 2.5%. Food and basic food prices have increased by 35% since 2020. The IOBE survey shows that consumers are pessimistic about their household's financial situation.

The 'household basket' failed to address rising prices, and growth is not reaching the pockets of citizens.
