Athens Stock Exchange Rises 1.09%, Led by Banks

The Athens Stock Exchange rebounded today, with the General Index closing up 1.09%. The recovery comes after three consecutive sessions of decline.
Bank stocks led the gains, with Metlen's stock outperforming after the agreement with Shell.
The General Price Index closed at 2,283.73 points. The value of transactions amounted to 308.85 million euros.
Among the high capitalization stocks, the largest increase was recorded by the shares of Metlen (+5.25%), Alpha Bank (+3.11%), Piraeus (+3.05%), OTE (+2.22%) and Optima Bank (+2.19%).
Eurobank and Alpha Bank presented the largest volume of transactions.
