Bloomberg: Greece's Plan to Tackle Water Scarcity

Greece is planning to merge hundreds of water companies as drought worsens, according to Bloomberg. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will chair a meeting today at the Maximos Mansion regarding the national water plan.
More than 700 water companies, most of which are controlled by municipalities, will be merged into three. EYDAP and EYATH will expand their coverage, while a third entity will take responsibility for the rest of the country.
Additionally, a new fund will be created to finance projects such as dams and desalination plants. Attica and Crete will be designated as water-deficit areas.
