Greek Ports at the Heart of Cruise Tourism

Greece maintains a leading position in global cruise tourism, with its ports being a critical factor for the industry's success and local development. As part of the #AllAboardGreece campaign, CLIA highlighted the important role of Greek ports, from Piraeus to Pyrgos.
Theodora Riga, President of MedCruise, emphasized that "Greece was the first country where cruising was reborn after the pandemic and continues to upgrade its international role."
In 2024, Piraeus recorded almost 1.7 million cruise passengers, marking a record and a significant increase in homeporting. Ioanna Farantaki, Head of Marketing at OLP, stated that "Piraeus recorded almost 1.7 million passengers in 2024, with more homeportings than ever before."
