Funding for Innovative Medicines Delayed in Greece

The establishment of the Innovation Fund for financing expensive and innovative medicines in Greece is delayed, despite announcements by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis last September at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF).
The relevant regulation is included in a bill of the Ministry of Health, which is expected to be put to public consultation before Easter. After the consultation, the bill must be voted on and at least 5 ministerial decisions must follow.
Pharmaceutical companies are awaiting the launch of the Fund, which will improve patient access to innovative therapies.
