Kyriakos Pierrakakis: 2026 Will Be a Year of Opportunity for Greece

The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, stated that 2026 will be a year of opportunity for Greece, with an emphasis on growth, investments, and citizens. In a statement to APE-MBE, the minister stressed that the success of the economy is judged by the improvement in the lives of citizens.
Mr. Pierrakakis mentioned that Greece is starting 2026 with a mature, extroverted, and dynamic economy. According to the data, growth is at 2.4%, investments are increasing at a rate of 10.2%, while unemployment is falling to 8.6%. Inflation is decreasing to 2.2%.
The minister emphasized that the tax reform is starting to be implemented and forms the basis for a fairer distribution of burdens. He also stressed that development policies that support society and strengthen the confidence of the economy will continue.
The compass remains steady with more productive investments, new jobs, utilization of development tools, and policies that strengthen social cohesion.
