Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in an interview with SKAI and Alexis Papahelas, referred to Greece's role in the new energy environment in Europe.

The Vertical Corridor, according to the Prime Minister, highlights the geopolitical and strategic value of the country through its energy infrastructure. Greece functions as an energy gateway and a factor of stability, contributing to Europe's independence from Russian natural gas.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that the first contracts for the Vertical Corridor are already being signed, emphasizing that this constitutes a multiplier of power and stability in the region. He also referred to the state infrastructure of DEPA and private infrastructure, such as the FSRU in Alexandroupolis. The Prime Minister added that in practice there is a Vertical Corridor with two branches, Revithoussa and Alexandroupolis, and it is important that both are economically competitive.
