OECD: 71% of Greek Businesses Report Difficulty Finding Staff

According to an OECD survey, 71% of businesses in Greece are facing difficulties in finding staff. The findings were presented at the 2nd Annual Conference of the OECD Crete Centre for Population Dynamics.

The study highlights the importance of migration in boosting employment and filling job vacancies. Cem Özgüzel presented data on skill shortages and mismatches in the Greek labor market.

Lisa Andersson, an OECD economist, stressed the need for effective integration policies for migrants. Alessandra Venturini, a professor of Political Economy, highlighted the importance of linking social integration with the needs of the labor market.

Maite Alguacil, a scientific advisor to the Spanish Ministry, referred to the Spanish experience of legalizing migrants.
