The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, participated in a Grant Thornton event in Heraklion, Crete, where he analyzed the priorities of economic policy and growth opportunities for the Greek economy.

Mr. Pierrakakis emphasized that the government achieved the "largest tax relief since the transition" and that the Greek economy is moving at a faster pace than that of Europe. He also referred to efforts to combat inflation and increase purchasing power.

Regarding Crete, the minister highlighted the importance of infrastructure projects such as the VOAK and the new airport in Kasteli, as well as the island's contribution to the country's regional production.

The Regional Governor of Crete, Stavros Arnaoutakis, referred to the development projects that are changing the island's landscape, while the CEO of Grant Thornton, Vasilis Kazas, emphasized the importance of dialogue on development prospects.

Mr. Pierrakakis also commented on the meeting between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, stressing the need to defend the national interest and strengthen trade relations.
