SEV: Immediate EU action needed to reduce energy prices
Share on:

SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises) is calling for immediate action at the European Union level to reduce energy prices, in order to address the high energy costs burdening the industry.

In a joint statement with nine other industrial associations from various EU countries, ahead of the publication of the Clean Industrial State Aid Framework (CISAF) on June 25, SEV emphasizes the need for effective provisions to support industry in implementing the decarbonization strategy.

SEV points out that the existing energy price differences within the EU create distortions in competition. It also mentions that previous efforts by member states to establish support measures, such as the Green Pool, were not approved by the European Commission due to the strict application of state aid rules.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of SEV, Spyros Theodoropoulos, stated that Greek and European businesses urgently need specific measures to reduce energy prices.
