UniCredit has further increased its stake in Alpha Bank, acquiring the possibility for 107,770,830 additional shares, corresponding to 4.655% of the Greek bank's share capital, through financial instruments.

According to an announcement by Alpha Bank, the development was announced on August 28, 2025. UniCredit uses financial derivatives with a pre-selected cash settlement and alternative physical settlement, subject to securing all necessary supervisory approvals.

The Italian bank had already announced that it seeks to strengthen its presence in Greece, raising its stake in Alpha Bank to 26% and targeting a percentage of up to 29.99% of the share capital. Until the completion of the relevant approvals, UniCredit will maintain a stake of over 9.99% through financial derivatives.

This strategy is part of the dynamic restructuring and strengthening of UniCredit's position in the Greek banking sector.
