Athens Stock Exchange: Rises Despite International Climate

The Athens Stock Exchange recorded an increase, with the General Index closing above 2,110 points, despite the negative climate in international markets.

The General Index moved positively by 12.17 points or +0.58%, closing at 2,116.1 points. Intraday, it exceeded 2,120 points, with turnover reaching almost 350 million euros.

The shares of Metlen (+3.3%), Lamda Development (+2.87%) and Bank of Cyprus (+2.86%) moved positively. Losses were recorded in the shares of ΟΠΑΠ (-2.28%) and Jumbo (-1.22%).

Internationally, the focus was on the USA and Jackson Hole, where the chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, signaled monetary policy.
