Athens Stock Exchange: Third Day of Losses, Pressure on Banks

Losses continued for the third consecutive day on the Athens Stock Exchange, with the General Index closing at 2,043.27 points, down -1.28%. Banking stocks came under strong pressure.
Turnover reached €219 million, with the banking index moving downwards by 1.44% to 2,202.27 points. 22 stocks moved upwards, 91 downwards, and 13 remained unchanged.
Space Hellas (+5.41%), Fourlis (+1.41%), and Bank of Cyprus (+0.78%) recorded gains. ELINOIL (-3.82%), OTE (-1.47%), Metlen (-1.28%), and Motor Oil (-1.38%) moved downwards.
Piraeus Bank (-1.77%), Eurobank (-1.85%), and Alpha Bank (-3.51%) closed negatively, while ETE remained unchanged.
Austriacard recorded a 16% decrease in revenue in the second half of 2025. Motor Oil announced net profits of €163.4 million for the first half of the year.
Morgan Stanley suggests going long on 4-year Greek bonds versus German bonds, due to Greece's stability.
