A new regulation by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, effective today, eliminates fees for cash withdrawals from Greek bank ATMs. A national maximum charge (cap) of €1.50 is established for withdrawals from third-party ATMs.

The regulation provides for zero commissions for withdrawals between banks participating in the DIAS interbank system, the abolition of charges from third-party providers with a shareholding connection to the customer's bank, zero charges from third-party providers in municipal communities with only one ATM, and a cap of €1.50 for withdrawals from third-party ATMs nationwide.

Additionally, free balance inquiries are provided for all cardholders, a uniform charge of €0.50 for remittances via digital channels from third-party providers, and legislative protection against banks charging for withdrawals.
