OPEKEPE Case: Accounts of farmer unionist G. Botas frozen

As part of the investigation into illegal receipts of agricultural subsidies from OPEKEPE, authorities have frozen the accounts of Giorgos Botas, a member of the coordinating committee at the Malgara bloc, according to ERT.
Giorgos Botas stated that he learned about the freezing of his accounts by chance and had not been informed about it. He also emphasized that he is open to any inspection and to be punished if he has made a mistake.
"My hands are tied, I don't have a single euro, I can't work, I can't move. I don't know the reason. If I have made a mistake somewhere and my declaration has a problem, let there be an audit, let me be punished, let whatever needs to be done be done, and let the work proceed. This is unacceptable. I have nothing to hide, come and check me," he stated.
