The Greek Ministry of Health is planning to create a special branch for nurses, aiming for faster recruitment outside of ASEP (Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection). This move aims to address the shortage of nursing staff in public hospitals.

The legislative provision, under the supervision of the General Secretary of Health Services, Mrs. Lilian Vildiridi, is expected to be included in a bill to be voted on before Easter. It foresees the creation of a new branch of nurses with two main advantages: faster recruitment and a special salary scale, which will lead to an increase in earnings.
