Aegina: 79-year-old found dead on beach – Allegations of ambulance driver shortage

A tragedy unfolded on the beach of Agia Marina in Aegina, where a 79-year-old woman lost her life. The woman fainted in the sea and was rescued by a lifeguard. Initially, she was conscious, but then suffered a cardiac arrest.
A private doctor provided CPR, and the elderly woman temporarily recovered, but shortly after, she lost consciousness again. According to reports, despite repeated calls to the Aegina Health Center, there was no ambulance driver available.
The Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, stated that he will investigate the case and impose the prescribed sanctions if the Health Center is found responsible. An official inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
