Compensation has been determined for fire victims in East Attica, following a meeting at the Lavreotiki Town Hall under the Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Kostas Katsafados.

Citizens are required to submit the registration form, E1 and E9 forms from August 18 to 27 to begin the restoration process. They will receive €600 for initial expenses.

The compensation amounts, depending on the marking, are:

  • €2,000 for primary residences with green marking
  • €4,000 for houses with yellow marking
  • €6,000 for red-marked houses
  • Reduction to half for holiday homes.

In addition, state aid of €300-€500 per month was determined for renting a house, with retroactive effect. The Mayor of Lavreotiki, Dimitris Loukas, emphasized the importance of cleared plots in extinguishing the fire.

Inspections have begun in the affected areas by joint teams of the General Directorate for the Restoration of Natural Disaster Effects (ΓΔΑΕΦΚ), with the aim of accelerating the damage recording process.
