Emergency Helicopter Landing in Mykonos After Fire Indication

A helicopter made an emergency landing at Mykonos Airport on Saturday night following an indication of a possible fire. The aircraft, belonging to Olympic Air, was on a ferry flight from Rhodes to Athens and was not carrying passengers.
According to protothema.gr, the Mykonos Control Tower ordered the landing at 22:08. The emergency plan was immediately activated, with the Airport Fire Service (PYAL) of Mykonos on standby.
The helicopter landed safely, and a thorough inspection followed, which did not detect a fire. Initial reports indicate that the indication came from a sensor, and the landing was made for precautionary reasons in order to carry out a technical inspection.
