The August holiday exodus from Attica and major urban centers is peaking. Ferry routes are operating normally after the lifting of the ban, with ferries departing at 100% capacity.

Traffic around the port of Piraeus was heavy on Sunday (10/8), with routes to the Cyclades, Crete, the Dodecanese, the Northeastern Aegean, and the Saronic Gulf. Routes are also operating from Rafina and Lavrio.

Although many are leaving, some are choosing the beaches of Attica for refreshment. According to the Institute of Retail Consumer Goods Research (IELKA), 52% of citizens have not planned a vacation this year.

It is recalled that strong winds will continue, with meltemia reaching up to 8 Beaufort in the Aegean, while high temperatures are returning.
