Heavy Snowfall in Epirus: Rescue Operation in Kapesovo

Heavy snowfall is occurring in the mountainous areas of Epirus, causing traffic problems. In Pramanta, Metsovo, Milia, and villages in Zagori, snowfall is heavy, with salt spreaders and snow removal machines operating for driver safety.
On the Aristi-Asproangeloi Zagori provincial road, many cars were immobilized due to a lack of anti-skid chains. In Kapesovo, a rescue operation was launched for 5 visitor cars, as reported by the mayor of Zagori, Giorgos Soukouvelos, to APE-MPE.
Heavy snowfall is also recorded on the Egnatia Odos from Metsovo to Panagia, without any reported problems, due to the immediate mobilization of cleaning machines and salt spreading.
