Impressive drone footage of the new Karavoporos bridge in Trikala

Impressive drone footage showcases the progress of construction on the new Karavoporos bridge in Trikala. The project, underway on both banks of the river, is the largest road project ever undertaken in Thessaly.

The project's budget amounts to €22 million, according to trikalavoice.gr. The project was tendered and initiated by the previous Regional Authority under Kostas Agorastos, while the new regional governor, Dimitris Kouretas, helped resolve emerging issues.

The project includes:

• Construction of a 1.3 km main road.
• Construction of bridges spanning the Pinios River, measuring 143.10m.
• Construction of a side road network to the right (1.35 km) and left (1.00 km).
• Construction of a level junction at Karavoporos.
• Adaptation of the road to existing junctions.

Special care is being taken to ensure pedestrian and disabled access, with appropriate sidewalk and ramp design.
