Evros: Flooding in Soufli, Road to Dadia Closed

The low-lying areas of the Municipality of Soufli in Evros are in a state of alert due to the sudden rise in water levels, causing extensive flooding. The water has reached the road axis and the Dadia junction.
According to local media pameevro.gr, the large amounts of water coming from Bulgaria have led to a dramatic increase in the water level, creating suffocating conditions in agricultural areas, farm roads and low points of the road network. It is estimated that approximately 60,000 acres have been flooded.
Authorities are urging caution at Irish crossings, low-level bridges, agricultural land and dirt roads. Crossing points where there is water flow or accumulation is prohibited.
