Fire in Megali Volvi, Thessaloniki – Extinguishing Operation Underway

A large fire is currently raging in the area of Megali Volvi, Thessaloniki. Strong firefighting forces are operating to extinguish it.

48 firefighters with 2 teams of foot patrols from the 2nd EMODE and 13 vehicles are participating in the operation. From the air, 2 aircraft and 1 helicopter are assisting the efforts. OTA water trucks are also providing assistance.

The fire is burning in an agricultural and forest area.
