Fire in Ilia: 112 Alert Issued for Melissa Lechainon Area

A large fire broke out in the Melissa Lechainon area of Ilia on Friday afternoon, August 1st. Firefighting forces are working with significant resources to extinguish it.

Specifically, 61 firefighters, three teams of the 18th Special Forest Operations Unit (E.M.O.D.E.), and 18 vehicles are at the scene. In addition, three aircraft and two helicopters are conducting water drops from the air. Water trucks and machinery from the local government are also providing assistance.

Shortly after 3:00 PM, a message was sent from 112 to residents of the Kotteika area, urging them to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of the authorities due to the agricultural and forest fire.
