Democracy Movement: Danger on Chalkida bridge – Warnings ignored

The Democracy Movement denounced that the Evripos bridge in Chalkida was taken out of service due to a malfunction in the electro-hydraulic mechanism. It points out that the Regional Administration had been notified of the problem by OLNE as early as February 4, 2025, but took no action.

According to the Movement, the bridge operates without a maintenance protocol and with worn parts from the 1960s. Despite the technical study by EMP and the costing, no action was taken.

The Democracy Movement demands the immediate restoration of the bridge's safety and full transparency regarding the omissions.
