School Closures Today, 19/01/2026: Affected Areas

School operation disruptions and changes in student arrival times are occurring today, January 19, 2026, in various regions of Greece due to severe weather and other factors.

Thasos Municipality: The 1st EPAL of Thasos remains closed due to a scheduled power outage by DEDDIE and low temperatures.

Distomo - Arachova - Antikyra Municipality: Attendance at Primary and Secondary Education schools, as well as municipal kindergartens, will be at 9:00 a.m.

Karpenisi Municipality: All Primary and Secondary Education school units will begin operating at 10:00 a.m. Kindergartens will operate normally.

Dirfyon-Messapion Municipality (Evia): Schools in the Palioura and Kathenoi communities will remain closed due to DEDDIE works and adverse weather conditions. This affects the Kathenoi Kindergarten and Gymnasium, the Palioura Kindergarten, and the Dirfyon Primary School in Palioura.
