Larissa: Fire in Agia Under Control – Increased Alert

The forest fire in Vathyrema Agias, Larissa, remains without an active front, although fire forces remain on high alert for flare-ups. The fire broke out yesterday at noon.
21 water trucks, 13 auxiliary vehicles, and 6 ground teams are operating in the area. Yesterday, strong winds hampered the extinguishing effort, and a fire truck was engulfed in flames. Two firefighters were slightly injured and taken to the Agia Health Center.
A warning message was sent from 112 to the residents of Agia. The Civil Protection services of the Region of Thessaly remain on alert, as the Fire Risk Forecast Map predicts a high risk for the PE of Magnesia and parts of the PE of Larissa.
