August Exodus: Heavy Traffic at Ports and National Roads

The summer exodus is underway, with heavy traffic reported at the ports of Piraeus, Rafina, and Lavrio, as well as on national roads.
Over 125,000 passengers and 340 ship departures were recorded from Friday, August 1st to Sunday, August 3rd from the three ports. Ship occupancy is reaching 100%.
Traffic congestion is observed in the following areas:
- Kifisias Avenue (from Halandri to the center)
- Mesogeion Avenue (from Agia Paraskevi to Athens)
- Katechaki Avenue (from Kaisariani to Kifisias)
- Alexandras and Patision Avenues (towards the center)
- Syngrou Avenue (downwards to Faliro/Piraeus)
- Athens - Corinth National Road (from Skaramangas to the western suburbs)
- Athens Avenue (from Haidari to the entrance of Athens)
- Iera Odos & Liosion
Moderate congestion is observed in the peripheral sections of Kifisias and Mesogeion, as well as at the entrance of Attiki Odos from Lavrio/Markopoulo to Paiania.
