The ferry boat "Panagia Paravouniotissa" remains stranded off Nea Styra after running aground on Tuesday. The dislodging procedures have not yet begun.

A plan has been drawn up for the safe towing of the ship to the port, which is expected to be submitted to the Ministry of Shipping. Sealing work continues on the hull, where ruptures with a total length of 10 to 15 meters have occurred.

The Deputy Minister of Shipping, Stefanos Gikas, told MEGA that they are awaiting the submission of the dislodging and repair plan to the Karystos Authorities.

The ferry boat ran aground on the islet of Glaros, in South Evia, just 20 minutes after departing from the port of Nea Styra. The 105 passengers, including the elderly and children, experienced moments of terror and panic. Great suffering followed, as there was no information from the nine-member crew.

Private individuals with boats helped in the disembarkation of the passengers. Thirty-five cars and 3 motorcycles remain in the garage of the ship.

According to reports, the passengers are expected to file lawsuits for the accident.
