OSE Suspends Kalavryta Rack Railway Operations Due to Landslides

OSE (Hellenic Railways Organisation) has announced the suspension of operations for the Kalavryta Rack Railway, due to natural phenomena and landslides on the Diakopto-Kalavryta line.

The decision was made pending a re-evaluation of the conditions and geological studies in the Mount Helmos area, in cooperation with local authorities.

OSE points out that a preliminary investigation has been underway since last year regarding the potential danger of the network, with the findings still pending.
