Piraeus: Cruise Ship Adrift Due to Malfunction

A cruise ship flying the Maltese flag became adrift while entering the port of Piraeus, due to a malfunction in the electrical distribution panels.
There were 2,109 passengers and 946 crew members on board. Four tugboats immediately rushed to the scene and assisted in safely docking the ship.
The Central Port Authority of Piraeus has temporarily banned the ship from sailing until the damage is repaired and a certificate of seaworthiness is presented.
No injuries were reported. Passengers remain on board awaiting technical inspections.
