Patras Mayor: "Those Who Ignored 112 Saved Their Properties"

The Mayor of Patras, Kostas Peletidis, stated that residents who did not evacuate their homes, despite instructions from 112, managed to save their properties from the recent fires in Achaia.
Speaking to the radio station "Real," Mr. Peletidis argued on Wednesday that evacuating the areas would have resulted in total destruction. He also denounced the lack of central planning by the state to deal with the fires and their consequences.
In another interview, the mayor referred to the arrests for arson, emphasizing the need for information from the police regarding the investigations. He noted that fires broke out in four different locations in Patras, implying a possible plan.
Regarding the damage, Mr. Peletidis spoke of burned houses and damage to infrastructure, while the president of DEYAP accused ND and other bourgeois parties for the damage to the water supply network.
