Peristeri: Crane Accident – Possible Road Subsidence

A serious accident occurred on Saturday morning in Peristeri, when a crane overturned and collided with a two-story house on Arkadias Street.

According to initial assessments, the crane appeared to lose its stability due to possible road subsidence. This resulted in power cables being dragged down and a collision with the roof of a neighboring house, causing significant material damage.

The crane driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Traffic police have closed Arkadias Street, while crews from DEDDIE and Civil Protection are on site to restore power and remove the vehicle.

Authorities are investigating the causes of the accident, with emphasis on the condition of the road surface.
