Fire in Zografou Under Control: Traffic Regulations in Effect

The fire that broke out in low vegetation near the Polytechnic School in Zografou is now under control. The fire started around 14:30 near Katechaki, with no reported damage to residences.

110 firefighters with 5 teams of the 1st EMODE, 30 vehicles, and volunteers are operating at the scene. 11 aircraft and 8 helicopters are participating in the aerial firefighting efforts, with assistance from water tankers of the Attica Region.

A warning message was sent from 112 to residents of the area. Due to the fire, traffic regulations are in effect in the Zografou Polytechnic area.

Specifically, according to the Traffic Police, diversions are taking place at: L. Alimou-Katechaki (Vyronas junction), L. Kanellopoulou (from Kokkinopoulou Street), Attiki Odos (Vrilissia tunnel) and L. Ethnikis Antistaseos (Ethnikos Asteras Kaisariani stadium).
