Fires in Kastoria, Evrytania and Kilkis – Forces Respond

Firefighting forces are battling blazes that broke out yesterday in Kastoria and Evrytania, while active outbreaks remain in Kilkis.

In Kastoria, 67 firefighters with three ground teams and 15 vehicles are operating on the forest fire front in Nestorio. Two aircraft and one helicopter are assisting from the air.

In Evrytania, the fire is ongoing in Domnista, in a difficult-to-access area, without threatening any settlements. 45 firefighters with two ground teams and 12 vehicles, as well as one helicopter, are operating.

In Kilkis, the fire does not have an active front, but there are active outbreaks. 86 firefighters with two ground teams and 32 vehicles are operating. The fire caused damage to businesses yesterday and led to the evacuation of a hotel and a supermarket.

The fires in Ancient Olympia, Pedini Ioanninon and Neromylos Messinias have been brought under control.
